Bridgeview Park playground to get a makeover next month

New playground equipment, improved drainage among the planned upgrades

New playground equipment and swings are coming to Bridgeview Park in Burlington.

The park, located at 1530 Norwood Ave., will be under construction in September for approximately eight to 10 weeks.

Completion date may be affected by weather, or by production and service delays in the construction industry.

The project includes:

  • Replacement of playground equipment and swings
  • Drainage and grading improvements
  • Installation of engineered wood fibre surfacing
  • New concrete transition curbs for accessibility into playground areas
  • Path improvements
  • Removal of existing ball diamond backstop and footings (restoration with sod)
  • Clearing/grubbing at existing maintenance building
  • Memorial bench re-installation on new pad
  • New site furniture

To ensure safety during construction, most of the park will be closed and fenced off.

Maple Park

The city is also renewing Maple Park, where the soccer field is undergoing general grading improvements and the soccer field lighting is being replaced. The work is scheduled to be completed in September.

The park is open during construction. Access to the baseball diamond also remains open, but could be closed at times to allow for machinery access.
